Philadelphia Interfaith Community hosted a round table discussion of Abraham’s sacrifice on August 25th. Three speakers from Christian, Jewish and Muslim faith read the sections about Abraham’s sacrifice from their holy books and told explained the common belief in their faith about the story. Each small lecture was followed by a Q&A session and a roundtable discussion, allowing participants to understand the similarities and differences between the Christian, Jewish and Muslim perspectives.
Islamic perspective of the story was given by a PII Philadelphia member, Mr. Bekir Aksoy, and several other members from PII and Turkish Cultural Center participated to the event. At the end of the discussion, Mr. Aksoy also talked about the mission and the vision of Peace Islands Institute upon being asked by the participants.
